Sarah Goesaert

Sarah Goesaert works as a policy advisor within the police zone Brussels CAPITAL Ixelles. She holds a degree in Criminological Sciences and a Licentiate in Social and Cultural Anthropology from KU Leuven. In 2000, she started her career within the zone as a prevention advisor under the then safety contracts. She soon switched to a position of strategic analyst, responsible for crime analyzes and, among other things, drawing up and monitoring the zonal security plan. In addition to the function of strategic analysis, the cell was increasingly made responsible for managing and monitoring various zonal projects, as a result of which the focus of its tasks shifted more and more to strategic policy follow-up. Since January 2021, she has been working directly for Chief of Police Michel Goovaerts as his policy advisor and combines this with preparing and following up on the meetings as part of his position as Vice-President of the Permanent Commission of the Local Police (VCLP).
